ACU Chairman on the New Years Honours list!

We are pleased to announce that Abbey Credit Union's chairman Sam Ferguson has been awarded a BEM for services to the Community of Newtownabbey. Sam had just recently celebrated his 90th birthday!

Sam has had continuous involvement in Abbey Credit Union since 1967 in a completely voluntary capacity. 

Sam when speaking to the Newtownabbey Times stated: "When I found out I was to receive the BEM, I was overwhelmed, but felt proud and thankful. I would like to thank those at Abbey Credit Union who give up their time to assist and support me serving the community. I would also like to thank the community of Newtownabbey for putting their trust in Abbey Credit Union."

The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) also sent congratulations and stated "This was a great recognition of Sam's dedication and tireless efforts in making a real difference in the lives of the individuals and communities in Newtownabbey and surrounding areas."

We at Abbey Credit Union are exceptionally proud of Sam and all he has done and continues to do with the Credit Union and look forward to the future.
